A WEST SIDE CHRISTMAS

The West Side Chruch 2020 Christmas Pegent

Thanks to COVID-19, the West Side Christmas pageant looks a bit different than normal. This year, we sent out the script and asked church members to record scenes of the pageant using whatever they had at home for costumes and props. Sit back, and have a laugh while enjoying the 2020 West Side Christmas Pageant.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Children are at the heart of Jesus' ministry.  We use a rotational model of children's Sunday School to give our elementary-aged kids a chance to learn about memorable and important bible stories in more depth.  We focus on a single bible story over several weeks using a series of different experiences including music, art, games, science, and performance, to gain a deeper understanding of the story.

DUE TO COVID - 19, SUNDAY SCHOOL HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

West Side's Vacation Bible School is usually held for one week in June from 5:00-8:00pm (dates and times may vary) and it is free for everyone. Children ages 3 (potty-trained) through 5th grade are welcome, and older students are invited to volunteer. The week includes art and crafts, music, games, snacks, and fun all connecting to the week's Biblical theme!

PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES CONCERNING VBS 2021

SUMMER MUSICAL

During the summer months, children are invited to participate in West Side's summer musical. Children rehearse on Sunday mornings during the worship service. Rehearsal attendance is flexible to accommodate vacations and other summer activities. The cast and crew perform the musical at the worship service on the 2nd Sunday in September. We welcome all children who want to participate, and have big parts, small parts, and director's assistant roles available to fit everyone's comfort level.

DUE TO COVID - 19, PLEASE STAY-TUNED FOR UPDATES FOR THIS SUMMER'S CHILDREN'S MUSICAL

YOUTH AT

WEST SIDE CHURCH

For Students Grades 6 - 12

As young people grow in age and maturity, so also their faith journey grows.  Harder questions about who we are and what we believe needs to be cultivated and explored in safe, relevant and meaningful settings.

YOUTH GROUP

Growing Together in Christ

During middle school and high school years, youth are growing in their understanding of the world around them.  They have questions.  Relationships with parents, teachers, and friends are changing and evolving.  Every Sunday evening, all 6th-12th grade students are invited to come and explore their faith and their questions in an open, safe, and supportive group.  Sometimes we play games, or watch movies, sometimes we engage in spiritually dynamic activities, and always, there is a snack, and more! We don't pretend to know the answers to tough life questions, but we do believe that Christ is our best guide to asking those questions, and seeking answers together.

Youth group meets most Sundays (unless there's a special event) at church from 5-7 pm on the north lawn (temporarily-due to COVID), weather permitting, and is open to all 6th to 12th grade students. This time includes music, hanging out, games, weekly spiritual thoughts, exploration of God's vision for Ann Arbor, videos and more.

CONFIRMATION

Proclaim Your Faith

When youth are ready to explore their faith commitment more deeply, we offer Confirmation classes.  At the end of the confirmation session, the student will have the opportunity to publicly proclaim their faith during a worship service.
