Pastor Adam Bissell
Adam is our Lead Pastor here at West Side Church. He holds a Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary, is an ordained elder with the United Methodist Church, and also has a B.A. degree in Mass Communications.
Prior to arriving to WSUMC, Adam has had a diverse background of serving in over 30 years of ministry: including hospice chaplaincy for 15 years, Salvation Army Program Director at a Men's Shelter, a 12 Step Group Facilitator, Crisis Counselor, Youth Minister, Psychiatric Ward Chaplain and pastoring in 5 other United Methodist Churches.
Music has always played a big role in Adam's life and spiritual journey: from the clarinet, drums, guitar, bass guitar to lead singing - he has jammed in rock, folk, jazz, blues and praise bands through the years, from bars and festivals to churches and camps. These days he continues his musical adventures in recording his own music and sharing it digitally on various platforms.
His greatest joy is found in spending time with his wife Shannon, 12 yr old daughter Lilyan and their dog Sunny - camping, swimming, hiking and traveling together!
